Tom Welling apparently got full-frontal in a New York hotel window ahead of the city’s Comic Con event. The Smallville alum, 49, “accidentally exposed himself in the reflection of the windowpane in a now-deleted Instagram Story on October 8, 2026.
The post “remained up for around 10 hours” before it disappeared from his account. “At this time, Welling has not directly responded to what happened.” His rep “didn’t immediately respond to Page Six‘s request for comment.”
“That’s not very Clark Kent of him,” as one outlet put it. “Unfortunately, the reflection in the window revealed more of Welling than he likely bargained for.”The actor “accidentally posted a NSFW photo of himself on his Instagram Stories that had fans doing a double-take — and caused his name to start trending online.” He “appeared to accidentally share more than he intended to after sharing a photo from a hotel.”

On October 10, Welling took the stage at Javits Center for “The Road to Superman: 25 Years of Smallville” alongside Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, and Erica Durance. It “marked Tom’s first public appearance after accidentally posting an NSFW photo just hours before.”
The moment “drew comparisons to other figures who appeared to share nude photos by accident,” including Jonathan Bennett in 2021. Roughly 2 million followers saw the version he never meant to publish.
