Drake Von closed out his felony domestic battery case the only way he knows how: with content. On October 15, the 23-year-old posted a video of himself dancing in a suit and lip-syncing the lyrics “I just beat the case.”

Las Vegas Justice Court records verified by Out confirm that all charges against Von have been dropped. The original list was staggering: misdemeanor battery, first-degree domestic battery, domestic battery by strangulation, and felony coercion constituting domestic violence with threat or use of physical force.

The Night of the Promise Ring

Rewind to June 2, when Von, whose legal name is Dawson Bacon, was arrested in Las Vegas. The unnamed alleged victim told Detective D. Groberski in a taped interview that a verbal argument allegedly turned violent after she threw her Louis Vuitton “promise ring” out of the window of the car.

According to police, the woman had a bruise above her right eyebrow, a scratch on her hand, and redness on her neck “consistent with her allegations of being strangled.” Von, who has a previous arrest for domestic battery, refused to speak to police and requested his attorney.

Even the arrest came with production value. The SWAT team had to be called to Von’s apartment because an empty magazine from a firearm was seen on his coffee table.

He Called His Shot

Here is where the story bends from police blotter into brand management. Just two days after his arrest, Von claimed in an exclusive statement to Out that the incident “was all a publicity stunt” and that all charges “will be dropped and [the] case dismissed.”

He repeated the mantra even as the legal bills piled up: “I’m very good mentally. This was all a publicity stunt.” The official police report, for the record, “contradicts Von’s claims and details all of the alleged violence that led to his arrest.”

And yet here we are. The charges were dropped, just as he said they would be. Whatever else you want to say about Drake Von, he hit his mark.

The Stunt Economy

To understand the victory dance, you have to understand the machine it feeds. Von arrived at this moment with millions of followers and “plenty of GayVN Awards to his name,” having signed as an exclusive Men.com model in 2024 and teased “no end” to his career as an adult entertainer.

His tabloid instincts long predate the handcuffs. In April, he sat for a Love Don’t Judge interview with Mark LAX, a 42-year-old OnlyFans creator, confirming a romance across a nearly 20-year age gap. “A lot of people think we’re faking this,” Von said. Mark’s defense: “I see Drake as my peer despite the years difference.”

Then came his proposed safe-sex spectacle, framed as activism: “This isn’t just a publicity stunt. I want to spread the word about safe sex and educate the masses,” he told PRIDE.

Clock the pattern. The arrest is a stunt. The sex marathon is not a stunt. The relationship might be fake. Every headline functions as both confession and advertisement, and the audience’s inability to tell the difference is not a glitch. It is the business model.

Three Arrests, One Brand

The dismissed case was hardly Von’s only legal subplot this year. Weeks after the June 2 arrest, he was arrested again in Las Vegas and charged with driving under the influence. Then came a third arrest, this one in Los Angeles on a toxic substance charge.

The new dismissal applies to the domestic battery accusations. It does not retroactively tidy up the summer. But in the attention economy, a clean headline travels further than a messy police report, and Von clearly knows it.

The Victory Lap

The available reporting confirms the outcome without explaining it: records show the charges dropped, full stop. There is the version of events in a police report detailing alleged violence, and the version Von sells, in which the saga unfolded precisely as he announced it would.

Give the man this much: he understands his audience better than his critics do. Outrage converts. Sympathy converts. Disbelief converts. Four months after promising the case would vanish, he posted the receipts, choreographed and soundtracked.

“I just beat the case,” he mouthed, and the internet did what it always does with Drake Von. It watched.
